Repeat Prescriptions

Nice_blue_pillsA medication is placed on to your repeat list once a GP/Nurse has deemed this suitable.

When you are coming to the last week of your medication please put a request in to the surgery to ask for more, the following options are available for you to do this:

  • Dropping a repeat slip into the surgery reception - must include patient name, date of birth and the exact medications needed
  • Downloading the NHS app - all your medication details are there for you and just require you to tick a box to put your request through
  • Signing up for Systmonline - a similar version to the above option

We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone.

If your medications are suitable and stable enough, you may be offered something called repeat dispensing. This requires no ordering, meaning you can go collect your medication from the pharmacy when close to running out, they will still be reviewed annually like any other medication would be.

All prescriptions go electronically to a pharmacy of your choice, there are a very small amount of items that cannot go this way therefore you may be asked to collect a paper prescription from the surgery.

Any acute requests can be rung through and passed to our practice pharmacist who will make the decision on whether a prescription can be appropriately prescribed.

Prescriptions requested will always be at your pharmacy in 48 hours time, you do not need to ring the surgery to check unless we inform you otherwise.

Please note: we do not have any influence over pharmacy deliveries, any enquiries around this would need to be discussed with them.
