Electronic Prescribing Phase 4
There has been a recent change and update to how we prepare prescriptions.
Most people now have their prescription signed electronically by the practice and sent to their nominated pharmacy .
Many people who order repeat medications have their prescription processed in this way and they simply collect their medication from their nominated pharmacy.
Now in addition to this all prescriptions will be signed electronically with a few exceptions.
If you dont already have a nominated pharmacy you will be issued with a prescription token this has a unique bar code which allows any pharmacy to be able to find your prescription and prepare your medications.
If you come to see a clinician and they wish to give you a prescription that can be sent to your nominated pharmacy or if you prefer the clinician can print you a token and you can go to any pharmacy to collect your medication .
There is no change to how you order your medication .
